While we cannot offer an action-packed holiday such as many people enjoy at campsites or in larger towns and seaside resorts, there are plenty of things to see and do in the area.

beautiful scenery

For the serious sightseer and historian, we are located on the route of Richard the Lionheart with its wonderful chateaux, and tourist attractions such as Rocamadour, the caves at Lascaux and Futuroscope are an easy day’s outing.

For the wine enthusiast, we are not too far from several regions, notably Bordeaux, Bergerac and Cahors, where you can sample and stock up with quality wines at reasonable prices.

For the keen shopper, there is the wonderful porcelain and enamel of Limoges, the basketwork for which our region is famous, and the many village markets held all year round.

For the gastronome, we have a Michelin two star restaurant close by, and several excellent local eateries where a five course meal will cost you all of 10 euros, and that includes wine.

For the sporting types, there is tennis, fishing and swimming at the lake at nearby Bussière Galant, together with a Velorail and treetop adventure trail (lesacrobois.com) and there are several other lakes a short drive away; kayaking on the Vienne, mountain bike trails and nature walks all round the region.

And for those who want to relax and enjoy the more gentle pace of yesteryear, unwind from the stresses and strains of modern life, there are sun loungers in the orchard and a selection of books to read.

As on-site proprietors we are on hand to give you information and advice on the area, the best boulangeries, the best value for money country restaurants and a host of other titbits of information, as well as being able to provide you with fresh, free-range eggs from our hens and fresh fruit and veg from our garden, when available.
